I've been hearing about the five dollar lunch special and it didn't disappoint. The parking lot was busy I had to wait for a spot and then there was a line for a table. Fortunately the inside was empty and we were able to get seated right away, although we missed a beautiful day outside. Our waiter came quickly, our food & drinks came out just as quickly as well as the check. Friends ordered variations of the salmon, it looked delicious and they enjoyed. My ahi tuna salad was really delicious; The Asian dressing and slaw were perfect. What was really perfect was a seven dollar bill in including tax and tip. Unheard of!
How can you beat $5 entrees. Place is always crowded and the wait will be decent. The host staff has no clue what they are doing. Luckily that changes when you get seated. Wait staff is pretty good. YES! A freaking 5 Dollars restaurant ladies and gents... and it is great too! I don't get it some of the negative reviews; cheap bastards, you are going to a five dollars place and expect to get food from the Masa restaurant in New York? Ridiculous. But don't get me wrong, the food here was delicious and to be honest, much better than fancy restaurants I went in Florida. Beers for 3 dollars and 3 cocktails for 10 dollars, this out this world guys.The atmosphere is awesome and the patio area is lovely. The service was great and extremely friendly - - - we got a some character waiter helping us called Anthony. I liked so so much that I went back at night and the old folks were dancing away lol. Just in Florida man...
Delray has had a huge transformation in the last decade or so. Once a sleepy beach town with resonable dining options and dive bars now has flipped to high end eats and hipster speakeasys. Ocean One brings back what was once delray. Tucked away steps from the ave is Ocean one with a huge outdoor seating area decorated with lights and live music at night. The inside bar and dining area is a no frills ambiance. When I arrived the place was packed and they quoted a 45 minute wait at 8pm. Luckily a hightop was open at the bar so I grabbed that. A big draw is all day every day 3 for $10 drinks. This is not a drill. 3 for $10 glasses of wine, or 3 for $10 signature drinks, or 3 for $10 cocktails. They also have a list of 3 dollar beers. Their menu had lot of great options for dinner. I ordered the miso glazed seabass ($21) and my friend ordered the Chef DS Snapper. My seabass was amazing and I tasted her snapper which was also great. You truly cannot find a better deal in Delray. Skip the over hyped spots on the ave and check out Ocean One!
You can't fault this restaurant for anything. They do a big volume every day and do their best. Where else can you get $3 beers, 3 for $10 drinks, all meals $4.99 till 5. Music, dancing, clean establishment, fun atmosphere and the food is enjoyable. Smart marketing, they pack it in. Hats off to the whole staff!!!!! I'm a regular!!
